Sigmetal Zinccoat Satin (Bouwproduct) De Sigma Sigmetal Zinccoat Satin is een Eéncomponent primer,- overgrond- en afschilderverf voor buiten op basis van kunsthars. Toe toe passen op staal, thermisch verzinkt staal, non-ferro metalen en diverse kunststoffen. Na de juiste voorbehandeling werkt u af met drie lagen van de zijdeglanzende Sigmetal Zinccoat satin. Op die manier geeft u ondergronden in een normale buitenomgeving een uitstekende bescherming. De roestwerende verf - leverbaar in vrijwel alle kleuren - is toe te passen op staal, thermisch verzinkt staal, non-ferro metalen en diverse kunststoffen. De oplosmiddelhoudende Sigmetal Zinccoat kan overgeschilderd worden met verven op basis van alkydhars en watergedragen acrylaat. Purpose of Use • Protection of steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, and non-ferrous metals. • Painting various types of plastic. • Can also be applied to existing, intact, and sanded paint layers. Main Features • Ease of use with one-pot system. • Can be overpainted with alkyd-based and water-based acrylic paints. • Easy application. • Excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates. • Good flow. • Corrosion-resistant. • Good coverage and edge coverage. • Suitable for corrosion load category C3, according to NEN-EN-ISO 12944-2. Basic Data • Density: approx. 1.4 kg/dm³ • Solids content: approx. 46 vol.% • Dry film thickness: 50 µm (= approx. 110 µm wet) per layer • Flash point: 47°C Drying Times (at 23°C and 50% RH) • Dust dry: approx. 1 hour* • Tack-free: approx. 4 hours* • Recoatable: approx. 16 hours* *Drying time may vary with higher film thickness. Shelf Life Stored dry in original sealed packaging between 5°C and 30°C: at least 12 months. Coverage • Theoretical coverage (dry film thickness 50 µm): 9 m²/liter • Practical coverage depends on factors such as object shape, surface condition and profile, application method, and experience. ________________________________________ Page 2/3 Application Conditions For proper film formation (through drying), the following conditions must be met during application and drying: • Substrate and ambient temperature above 5°C. • Relative humidity max. 85%. • Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point. Systems Steel • Thoroughly clean and degrease. • Remove rust manually or mechanically to grade St3 (NEN-EN-ISO 8501-1) or blast to grade Sa2½. • Apply three layers of Sigmetal Zinccoat 3in1 Satin. or • Apply two layers of Sigmetal Zinccoat 3in1 Satin. • Finish with Sigma alkyd-based topcoat, e.g., Sigma S2U Gloss. Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel • Thoroughly clean and degrease. • Sand with Scotch-Brite and water until all zinc salts are removed and surface is roughened. • Apply two layers of Sigmetal Zinccoat 3in1 Satin. or • Apply one layer of Sigmetal Zinccoat 3in1 Satin. • Finish with Sigma alkyd-based topcoat, e.g., Sigma S2U Gloss. Instructions for Use Brush / Paint Roller • Recommended brush: ProGold Brush 7000 Exclusive Series • Recommended roller: ProGold Felt Paint Roller • Thinning: None, paint is ready to use. At low temperatures, thinning with max. 2% Sigma thinner 21-22 may be necessary. • Note: When overpainting with alkyd paints or with itself, do not allow too much time between coats to prevent dissolving/softening of the paint.
